Rack incidents usually come from accumulated small mistakes: misaligned pallets, unrepaired upright impacts or loads beyond rated capacity. Safety is not just signage — it is an inspection routine tied to each operating shift.
Eight basic principles
- Never exceed bay / location loads stated on technical labels
- Pallets must sit square on beams; do not overhang beyond limits
- Fit upright protectors at busy aisle corners
- Never climb rack frames; use approved trucks / work platforms
- Keep fire clearances and never block emergency exits
- After any impact, isolate the area and check for deformation before reuse
- Train drivers on lift height and approach angles in narrow aisles
- Schedule periodic inspections (bolt torque, plumbness, beam condition)
